CIRCULAR

Dear Colleagues!

When we have organised the “1st Croatian Symposium on invasive species” our main idea was to gather experts dealing with as many different aspects of invasive species as possible. We were very satisfied with the outcome. This year we want to continue with this, attracting more international participants, having in mind that only proper way to deal with this problem is to exchange our knowledge, and to act together. We extended the duration of Symposium on two days, in order to be able to accommodate more oral presentations. Time of year remained the same, enabling presentation of the most recent collected data.

Presentations

Formatting your Abstract

Abstract should contain objectives, methods, results and conclusion. Be as specific as possible, avoiding purely descriptive and speculative content. At the end of Abstract, add 4-5 keywords (avoid words from the title).
Abstract (without title, authors and their affiliations) should not exceed 250 words. Title should be printed in capital letters. Name of the authors should be write only with initials of first (and middle) names. Do not use academic titles. If different, use number in the superscript to indicate different affiliations of the co-authors. Underline the presenting author.

You can use this template for formatting your abstract. Prior to sending please (re)name your abstract in the format "2CSIS-Abstract-Surname-Name

Abstracts should be sent to this e-mail address till 18 September 2016. In case you haven't received confirmation of abstract submission within 48 hours, please contact Sven Jelaska.

Please indicate on top of your abstract preffered way of your presentation (oral or poster).

Scientific Committee can propose change of preferred way of presentation indicated by the authors, in which case this will be discussed with the authors.
Accepted abstracts will be prinetd in the Book of Abstracts only if registration fee is payed till 31 October 2016. After that date, we cannot guarantee inclusion in the Book.

PROCEEDINGS

Beside publishing the Book of Abstracts, we invite you to submit your full paper to Periodicum Biologorum, 130 years old open access journal indexed in WoS (SCIE) publishing all aspects of biology. We would like to produce high quality proceedings and therefore the papers submitted will be subjected to the standard peer-review process. All manuscripts received by the January 31st, 2017, that will pass positively the review process will be published in same issue of the journal, increasing their visibility and potential for citations. For details on preparing your manuscripts please follow the instructions for authors and indicate in the cover letter that your MS should be placed within the issue concerning the 2nd CSIS.

Registration fees

The lower conference fee for regular participant is 35 EUR, while for students, retired and unemployed persons is 25 EUR (certificate of particular status is required). After October 31, both fees increase by 10 EUR. Please note, that on-site fee can be paid only in Croatian kunas.
Conference fee includes conference materials and refreshments during the coffee breaks.

VENUE

Venue of the Symposium is the Hotel “Dubrovnik” in the very centre of Zagreb, on the main square, which is easily accessible by number of tram lines directly from the main train and bus terminal. Zagreb airport is connected with main bus terminal by shuttle which operates every half hour in peak times, or connected to flights in less crowdie part of the days. Venue is surrounded within walking distance to wide array of possible accommodations, from low budget to exclusive hotels. Same is with places where you can eat. We invite you to invade the heart of the city and explore it all (after the sessions, of course).
